How can I get into errands and delivery and could I realistically make $400 a day right here in Colorado? Others do, why not you? How great is the need for errands and or delivery of specific items? Just for one example, Doordash made 10.72 Billion USD where the company grew 24.2% in 2024* But, Is building up my own personal book of business of customers and clientele truly going to be that profitable? well, here is an example to give an idea of the realisitic side of need for these services and what can be made for profits of errands and delivery. For example, if you as a 1099 contractor sell Ten (10) Errand and or or Delivery/Pick contracts at $40 per errand, you can do very well, depending on your business expenses as a 1099 contractor and other factors that are essential to business operating costs. The Best part is you can make great money working your own schedule, while helping your community, especially those unfortunately are not able to do their own errands and shopping anymore. All Business expenses such as fuel, advertising, tolls, taxes, etc is paid for by the 1099 contractor. We take the old fashioned approach to getting customers by the following (1) word of mouth (2) door knocking (3) offereing delivery pick-up services to businesses (4) online advertising *To name a few! An errand runner/courier is almost as a personal assisitant at times. The courier knowing theie customer needs and connecting with the customer is essential for the 1099 *contractor/delivery person/rep* to do their customer's daily chores such as dropping stuff off at the post office or essential things that some of our customers aren't able to do due to factors such as age and or driving restrictions. Truly until a person starts knocking on doors, they do not know how great the need for our services are to our communities! For example, you may have a customer let's call her Mrs.Smith, and she wants you to drive 13 miles to the closest restaurant from her home to get her breakfast order that she placed online, but the restaurant delivery zone is only 12 miles, so she uses you as a courier to deliver! For another example, you may have another customer that flew into Vail, Co to visit family and they were going to ski with family for the weekend, but unfortunately the airline lost their bag, which happens as a common occurrence in the airline industry and the airlines notified the passenger that they will be sending their bag to Eagle, Co airport which is the closest airport to Vail, Co ski resort. The problem is that the vacation is only 2 days and the family can't afford to loose a day on the ski slopes for a missing bag and renting a car and all the frustration , we are only one text message away from a courier being at your door with your bag! This is where the courier would have handed out their business cards to all the ski resorts  ans spoken to the people in management so that they would get on the vendors list so that they would be called by the customer! Marketing really pays off in this line of work! We belive the more brochures, flyers and business cards you hand out with a sincere attitude of caring for people, the more chance of getting lasting business you get, which is to the utmost of importance. We believe sales is a numbers game to a degree mixed with high integrity, sincerefulness and high morale, if you love talking to people, we believe you will do great! A short story of a delivery salesman from 2005. Around 20 years ago there was a man let's call Dan, who was shy to talk to people and had not the greatest confidence in speaking to people, but there was sales rep let's call Mark who was in his 50's and he made around $1,000 a week or so and Dan was told by one of the other reps what Mark earns per week. Dan was going to quit after his 1st day, and the other rep said to Dan, don't quit please just work one more day and try selling food delivery contracts. Dan was frustrated to know that he only made just around $120 a day-digging and replacing gas station pumps with a pick axe- very difficult low paying manual labor as his job. Dan finally agreed to work one more day and the sales rep said if you work one more day, the sales rep would share some of his pay with him at the end of the day. Dan agreed in frustration that he was to shy to talk to people when he knocked on the door. The sales rep then proceeded to tell Dan about how Mark makes around $1.000 a week and Dan got his nerve up and said thats it, I will make myself sell these delivery contracts for food delivery, if Mark can do it then so will I. The 3rd day Dan set his mind to it and he made almost $400 and that day forward was Dan started his sales career! Some will even hand out brochures, and or-all relevant info that we may want to advertise with our services that we choose to offer as a 1099 delivery contractor, we may even choose what we want to offer to our clients as a courier, ultimately you choose what delivery services you offer to the customer. We also allow 1099 Contractor reps to put decals with our company name and website on their vehicle or magnets as advertising our company if they choose, the 1099 contractor reps personal cell# can also be put on the decals to help get business for the contractor while advertisng for us! Lets say for example a Business is shipping out 10 boxes at 5pm and the business customer is not ready for UPS-for the pickup at their home that the Business is ran from. The customer can call you the 1099 contractor rep when they have your contact info, and they would have your card or brochure from advertising prior. Many businesses may find it helpful when the business is in an emergency situation to get something delivered. For example if a driver calls off work or one of the companies delivery vans breaks down they may just give you the 1099 contractor a call or text, you make your own schedule, hours and delivery fees. There are many ways to advertise your delivery services, you can work any hours you want or even get magnets with our company name and website along with your personal phone number on the advertising literature you choose to print. Some have made over $500 a day doing delivery using their own personal vehicle and you as the 1099 contractor keep 100% of profits that you receive by either cash,venmo,zelle,cashapp,credit card,money order, check or whichever form of payment you choose to use!
